February 9 seeding update

High seed results

Quite a few projected high seeds lost a busy Saturday in college basketball:

• Michigan was crushed at Iowa
• Cincinnati was upset by a now-safe from the bubble SMU
• Texas was hammered at Kansas State
• Oklahoma State suffered a terrible loss at Texas Tech
• And today, Wisconsin took out Michigan State in Madison

Mid-level seeds

• Memphis won the battle of the mid-majors against Gonzaga
• Baylor fell off the bubble with a loss at Oklahoma
• Florida State lost at Maryland, putting their tournament chances in serious jeopardy
• Missouri did the same with a loss at Ole Miss
• Oregon lost a tight game at Arizona State

Finally, in the one-bid conferences:

• Stony Brook's loss puts Vermont atop the America East
• UC Irvine is a half game up on UCSB in the Big West
• Harvard lost at home to Yale, giving Yale the tiebreaker until the two meet again in a month in New Haven
• Green Bay's loss to Milwaukee hurts their seed, but they hold on to the Horizon lead by a half game
• American's second consecutive loss drops them to a tie with Boston U in the Patriot league, but American stays in the field with the head-to-head tiebreaker
